Small but strong, the AFK Pocket kazoo is easy to carry with you at all times! Despite its smaller format and a single membrane, it provides a rich and dynamic sound. Its small size allows it to be held between the teeth for hands-free playing, as guitarists often do.
The AFK Twin kazoo is the most popular model. With two independently adjustable membranes, it provides a full and expressive sound, with a wide dynamic range.
With its three membranes, the AFK Triton kazoo demonstrates that it’s good to be a bit crazy sometimes. It sounds even more powerful and grungey than the Twin, making it our absolute best for blues and all styles where the kazoo needs to make its way to front stage.
If you’re undecided, the AFK Twin is the recommended model. Or get all three, to be on the safe side!

Each kazoo of the Vintage series is a unique instrument, hand polished in a steel or bronze finish. The kazoo body contains particles of these metals, with an added black embouchure in a food-safe material.
All three models, Pocket, Twin and Triton, are available in the Vintage series in either steel or bronze finish.

As a budget series, the Pocket and Triton models are available in a monochrome version, grey and black.
Despite the simpler finish, the sound of the AFK Monochrome kazoo is close to that of the other series. The AFK Twin Monochrome, in particular, offers a sound quality and expressiveness that make it a real stage instrument.

Most people need a kazoo in their life, but many of them don’t know that!
To adjust your kazoo’s membranes, start by fully tigthening the screws, without putting too much pressure on them.
The kazoo is almost mute at this stage. That’s also a good way to carry your kazoo, without the risk of losing a screw or membrane.
Now hum in the kazoo, from the wide side near number 2 on the above image, and slightly loosen each screw, just enough to get a full sound. The correct setting should be quite obvious, as soon as the membrane works well that’s it.
On models with several membranes, you can mute all but one during this adjustement by putting your finger on the screw hole, to hear only the membrane that you are adjusting.
Do not loosen the screws too much, as this could cause a membrane to let too much air pass through and weaken the sound.

It’s an unusual profession, for sure.
The Joyful Buskers, where we play pop & country covers, use kazoo as a soloist instrument for a few tunes. I was not happy with the kazoo that we were using and wanted to go beyond the toy or decorative object style, and create my own high-end kazoo, as a real and expressive musical instrument.
After many months of experimentation with shapes and materials, I am proud to present the AFK Twin, Pocket and Triton kazoo. I hope their sound and looks will convince you!
AFK means either Atelier de Fabrication de Kazoo (Kazoo building workshop), or Away From Keyboard, as in gaming…it’s up to you!
